AAPAM organizes the annual Roundtable Conference, addressing major themes focusing on a number of critical issues in African Public Administration & Management and the challenges facing them.  It also runs a series of workshops and seminars aimed a sensitizing and providing knowledge and skills to senior level policy-makers, with a view to promoting and enhancing human capacity development on the continent.

In the past, the activities of the Association have included the following programmes, among others:

• Research programmes/senior-policy seminars on institutional capacity enhancement in African public administration;
• Seminars on enhancing public policy management capacity in Africa.
• Research programmes/senior policy seminars on women in top management in Africa;
• Research programmes/senior policy seminars on enhancing the capacity for local governance;
   
• Research programmes/senior policy seminars on public enterprises performance and privatization.
