The Gender Inequality and Anti-Corruption Symposium is a strategic forum that brings together policymakers, development partners, civil society, academia and the private sector to examine the intersection of corruption, governance failures, gender inequality and, in particular, gender-based violence (GBV). The symposium seeks to generate evidence-based, policy-relevant insights and strengthen cross-sector collaboration to promote accountability, institutional reform, and more gender-inclusive and gender-responsive governance, leadership and practice.
This second symposium comes at a critical time, addressing an important gap in policy and practice. While gender equality and GBV have received increasing attention, anti-corruption, governance and leadership initiatives are often pursued in isolation, with limited recognition of their interconnected nature. The symposium responds by providing an integrated, evidence-informed platform to explore these intersections, foster dialogue and collaboration, and support more effective and sustainable approaches to advancing gender equality, preventing GBV, and strengthening integrity and accountability at both institutional and societal levels.
